MECKLENBURG COUNTY SCHOOLS COLLEGE FAIR 2017 (Program Overview)

Sponsored by the Carolina Association of College Registrars and Admissions Officers (CACRAO), the Mecklenburg County Schools College Fair features representation from both public and private universities and colleges, including many University of North Carolina system campuses, Virginia Military Institute, University of South Carolina, Wofford College, Mars Hill University, Liberty University and The Citadel, as well as community and technical colleges - more than 85 in all.  CLICK HERE to see a full list of schools.

The fair will run from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5th, at the Charlotte Convention Center (501 South College St., Charlotte, NC 28202).

A field trip has been approved to attend the Mecklenburg County Schools Fair at the Charlotte Convention Center on Thursday, October 5th from 9:30 AM – 1:45 PM.

​

Purpose: Students will have the opportunity to learn more about the importance of furthering their education and to explore and discover the exciting programs and experiences offered by the colleges and universities in attendance. Students will meet with college representatives and admissions personnel during an exhibition.

FIELD TRIP ELIGIBILITY & COSTS

Students should meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for the field trip:

  • Must be a high school junior or senior (priority will be given to upperclassmen)

  • Must have an interest in learning more about olleges & universities; specifically those member schools of CACRAO

  • Hold a minimum unweighted 2.5 GPA

  • Must have no disciplinary infractions for the 2017-2018 academic year

  • Good attendance (No attendance concerns)

  • Receive Teacher Approval to attend the field trip

  • Be one of the first 40 qualified students to submit the following required materials

    • online application,

    • field trip permission form,

    • and teacher approval form

Program Costs

​

  • Transportation costs will be covered my Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools

  • Bring $10.00 for lunch. Students will be responsible for the cost of their lunch during the trip. We will stop at the Aboretum Shopping Center ( 8008 Providence Rd, Charlotte, NC 28277) on the way back to Ardrey Kell for lunch.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Application Deadline:  Friday, September 29, 2017 by 2:45 p.m.

Step 2: Complete the Online Application

​

Step 3: Submit field trip Permission Forms (Teacher & Parent) to Mr. Knoblich in Student Services. Applications must be submitted by Friday, September 29, 2017 at 2:45 p.m.

Accepted Students will be notified via e-mail and Remind by Monday, October 2nd.
